Understanding HydraFacial
HydraFacial is a multi step facial treatment designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and extract impurities from the skin while simultaneously infusing it with hydrating and nourishing serums.
Using specialised vortex technology, the treatment helps remove dead skin cells, excess sebum and congestion from the pores, while delivering ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants to leave the skin feeling smoother, clearer and deeply hydrated.
At Skin Therapy, we offer two HydraFacial options:
HydraFacial Deluxe
A complete HydraFacial treatment including deep cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, hydration infusion, LED therapy and a soothing jelly mask.
HydraFacial Premium
Our most elevated HydraFacial experience, combining the complete HydraFacial treatment with additional targeted boosters, steamer to further soften congestion, a relaxing hot towel, LED therapy, a soothing jelly mask and cooling ice globes to calm and refresh the skin.
The Premium treatment allows us to spend additional time refining the skin and tailoring the treatment to your individual concerns, creating a more comprehensive facial experience with an added focus on hydration, clarity and overall skin rejuvenation.
HydraFacial can be customised to suit a range of skin concerns, making it ideal for maintaining clearer, smoother and more hydrated skin.
What can HydraFacial improve?
HydraFacial offers a deep exfoliation and resurfacing experience designed to refine the skin while restoring hydration and clarity. Using advanced vortex technology, the treatment gently draws out excess sebum, congestion and impurities from within the pores while simultaneously infusing the skin with hydrating serums and targeted boosters selected to support your individual skin concerns.
It can help improve:
- Congestion and clogged pores
- Blackheads and excess sebum
- Dull or lacklustre skin
- Dehydration and dryness
- Uneven skin texture
- Enlarged or visible pores
- Mild uneven skin tone
- Fine dehydration lines
- Overall smoothness, clarity and radiance
By combining exfoliation, extraction and infusion in one treatment, HydraFacial leaves the complexion feeling deeply cleansed, replenished and visibly refreshed.
What Will the Treatment Feel Like?
HydraFacial is a comfortable and refreshing treatment with minimal discomfort. Throughout the facial, you may feel a gentle suction sensation as the device glides across the skin, deeply cleansing the pores and removing excess sebum and impurities.
The exfoliation can feel slightly textured, while the infusion stages feel cool and hydrating as serums and targeted boosters are delivered into the skin.
Manual extractions can feel like firm pressure or a brief pinching sensation, particularly in areas with deeper congestion. This sensation is temporary and we work carefully to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment.
The treatment finishes with the skin feeling fresh, smooth, deeply cleansed and hydrated.
Are There Any Safety Considerations?
HydraFacial is a gentle, non invasive treatment with minimal downtime and is suitable for most skin types.
Hydrafacial may need to be postponed if you have:
-
Active cold sores
Treatment should be delayed until the area has fully healed.
-
Open wounds or broken skin
The skin should be intact before treatment is performed.
-
Active skin infections
Any bacterial, viral or fungal infection should be fully resolved before treatment.
-
Sunburn or significant skin irritation
Treatment should be postponed until the skin has completely settled.
-
An active flare of eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis
The affected area should be calm and stable before proceeding with treatment.
Please advise us of any current medications, skin conditions or recent treatments prior to your appointment.
Before your treatment, your therapist will assess your skin and customise each step to suit your individual skin needs and sensitivity on the day, ensuring the treatment remains comfortable and appropriate for your skin.
Your Skinβs Recovery Process
HydraFacial requires minimal to no downtime, allowing you to return to your normal routine straight after your appointment.
Immediately after treatment, the skin will typically feel clean, smooth, hydrated and refreshed. A slight flush may be visible in some areas, particularly where deeper extractions have been performed, however this usually settles quickly.
Over the following days, the skin continues to feel softer and more hydrated as the infused serums and boosters support the complexion, leaving it looking clearer, plumper and more radiant.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of HydraFacial treatments you need will depend on your skin concerns, goals and current skin condition.
A single treatment can leave the skin feeling smoother, clearer and more hydrated, making HydraFacial a great option before an event or whenever your skin needs a refresh.
For ongoing concerns such as congestion, dehydration, uneven texture or dullness, we may recommend a series of treatments tailored to your skin.
Once your desired results are achieved, maintenance treatments every 3 months can help keep the skin feeling clear, hydrated, smooth and refreshed.
Considerations
As there is no expected peeling or downtime, the skin can return to normal immediately after treatment. Following your therapistβs aftercare recommendations and wearing daily SPF will help protect the skin and support the results of your treatment.
Treatment Preparation & Aftercare
Preparing the skin correctly before your treatment helps minimise sensitivity and ensures the skin is in the best possible condition for a safe and effective treatment.
To prepare for your Hydrafacial treatment:
- Avoid retinol, Vitamin A derivatives and other active skincare ingredients for 7 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds and fake tan for 2 weeks prior to treatment, particularly if the skin has become sunburnt, sensitised or irritated.
- Avoid picking or irritating the skin in the days leading up to your appointment.
- Please reschedule your appointment if you have an active cold sore, open wounds, broken skin or an active skin infection within the treatment area.
- Please arrive with no makeup or fake tan applied to the treatment area, allowing the skin to be properly assessed and prepared before treatment.
Following your Hydrafacial treatment, the skin may feel smoother, refreshed and hydrated, with little to no downtime expected.
Post Treatment Care
- Apply SPF 30β50 daily and minimise prolonged sun exposure.
- Avoid retinol, Vitamin A derivatives and strong active skincare ingredients for 2β3 days following treatment.
- Avoid exfoliating products, scrubs or picking at the skin for a few days.
- Avoid excessive heat, saunas, steam rooms and intense exercise for the remainder of the day if the skin feels warm or sensitive.
- Continue with a gentle skincare routine and avoid introducing new or highly active products immediately after treatment.
Hydrafacial is a gentle, no downtime treatment, most clients can return to their usual daily activities immediately. Your therapist will provide any additional aftercare recommendations based on your skin and treatment plan.
