BioRePeel
Understanding BioRePeel
BioRePeel is an advanced professional chemical peel formulated with a blend of exfoliating acids, amino acids and vitamins, including TCA (trichloroacetic acid). This combination works to resurface the skin, refine texture and support a clearer, more even complexion.
During the treatment, the BioRePeel solution is applied evenly to the skin and left to activate for a controlled period of time. The TCA and supporting acids help loosen and remove built up surface cells while encouraging the skinβs natural renewal process. The peel is then removed and followed with carefully selected finishing products to leave the skin feeling smoother, refreshed and visibly refined.
To complete your BioRePeel treatment, we finish with LED Light Therapy to help calm the skin, reduce post treatment redness and support the skinβs recovery process.
What can Biorepeel improve?
BioRePeel is a professional chemical peel that combines TCA with a carefully selected blend of exfoliating acids, amino acids and vitamins. Its advanced formulation allows multiple active ingredients to work together within one treatment, making BioRePeel a comprehensive option for clients wanting to improve the overall appearance and quality of their skin.
-
Active Acne & Congestion
BioRePeel helps exfoliate built up surface cells and clear congestion within the skin, making it beneficial for clients experiencing active breakouts, blackheads and blocked pores.
-
Uneven Skin Texture
By encouraging controlled exfoliation and skin renewal, BioRePeel can help smooth rough or uneven texture and leave the skin feeling more refined.
-
Acne Scarring
BioRePeel can help improve the appearance of post acne scarring by encouraging controlled exfoliation and skin renewal. Over a course of treatments, this can help refine uneven texture, smooth the skinβs surface and soften the appearance of residual acne scarring.
-
Pigmentation & Sun Damage
BioRePeel can help improve the appearance of uneven pigmentation and visible sun damage by encouraging controlled exfoliation and skin renewal, supporting a brighter, clearer and more even complexion.
-
Enlarged Pores
Regular treatments can help improve the appearance of enlarged pores by reducing surface build up and refining the overall texture of the skin.
-
Dull & Lacklustre Skin
BioRePeel removes accumulated surface cells that can leave the complexion looking dull, helping to restore a brighter, fresher and more revitalised appearance.
-
Fine Lines & Early Signs of Ageing
By supporting skin renewal and improving surface texture, BioRePeel can help soften the appearance of fine lines, improve skin firmness and create a tighter, smoother and more refined appearance.
Considerations
Treatment should be avoided or postponed if you:
-
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
BioRePeel is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
-
Have active cold sores, infections or open wounds
Treatment cannot be performed over active viral, bacterial or fungal infections, broken skin or open lesions.
-
Have sunburnt or significantly irritated skin
The skin should be calm and intact before undergoing a chemical peel.
-
Are experiencing an active flare of eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis
Inflamed or compromised skin may be more susceptible to irritation and should be fully settled before treatment.
-
Have recently used isotretinoin or prescription retinoids
Recent use of oral isotretinoin or certain retinoid medications may require the treatment to be postponed and discussed with your practitioner.
-
Have recently undergone laser, resurfacing or other intensive skin treatments
Adequate healing time is required between treatments to protect the skin barrier.
-
Have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the peel ingredients
BioRePeel contains TCA and other active ingredients, so any known allergies or sensitivities must be disclosed before treatment.
Please inform your therapist of any medications, medical conditions, recent procedures or changes to your skin during your consultation so your treatment can be performed safely.
What Will the Treatment Feel Like?
During BioRePeel, you may experience a mild tingling, warming or slight prickling sensation as the peel activates on the skin. The intensity can vary depending on your skin sensitivity and the areas being treated.
The treatment is generally well tolerated, and these sensations are usually temporary. To enhance comfort throughout the treatment, a cooling fan is provided to gently calm and soothe the skin while the peel is active. We remain attentive to your comfort and how your skin is responding at every stage.
Are There Any Safety Considerations?
Temporary redness and sensitivity may occur as part of the skinβs normal response. Following the recommended aftercare is essential to support recovery and minimise the risk of irritation, infection or other complications.
Following the recommended aftercare is important to support the skin as it settles and renews, while helping to minimise unnecessary irritation.
Your Skinβs Recovery Process
Following BioRePeel, the skin may appear mildly flushed and feel warm or sensitive for a short period after treatment. Approximately 2β3 days post treatment, some clients may begin to experience mild dryness, flaking or visible peeling as the skin progresses through its natural renewal process.
The degree of peeling can vary between individuals and may be minimal or not occur at all. As the skin continues to recover, it will begin to appear smoother, clearer and more refined.
How many treatments will I need?
BioRePeel treatment plans are tailored to your individual skin concerns, goals and response to treatment. When working towards a specific skin goal, sessions are typically scheduled approximately 2β4 weeks apart.
The number of treatments required varies from person to person and will be guided by your skinβs progress. Once your desired results have been achieved, maintenance treatments can usually be performed approximately every three months.
A consistent, recommended skincare routine is also important for supporting your results and keeping your skin healthy, balanced and well cared for.
Treatment Preparation & Aftercare
Preparing the skin correctly before treatment helps reduce sensitivity, minimise the risk of irritation and ensure the skin is in the best possible condition for a safe and effective treatment.
To ensure the skin is in the best condition for treatment:
- Avoid retinol, Vitamin A derivatives and other active skincare ingredients for 7 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds and fake tan for 2 weeks prior to treatment to ensure the skin is not sensitised or compromised before your appointment.
- Avoid threading for 5β7 days prior, and waxing or laser hair removal for 1β2 weeks prior to treatment to minimise sensitivity and allow the skin time to settle.
- Do not pick, peel or manually remove any flaking or peeling skin. Allow it to shed naturally to help prevent irritation and scarring.
- Please reschedule your appointment if you have an active cold sore, open wounds, broken skin or an active skin infection in the treatment area.
- Please advise us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding prior to booking, as treatment suitability will need to be assessed before proceeding.
- Please arrive with no makeup or fake tan applied to the treatment area, allowing the skin to be properly assessed and prepared before treatment.
After your treatment
We provide you with an aftercare product to nourish, protect and support your skin for up to one week following your treatment.
We strongly advise following the recommended aftercare protocol, as the skin is more vulnerable following treatment and requires extra care to minimise the risk of irritation and infection.
- Avoid sun exposure, swimming, exercise and makeup for 48 hours.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat for 48 hours.
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid unnecessary touching for 48 hours.
- Wash the treated area with cold water 2 hours after your treatment, followed by the provided aftercare. Continue using the aftercare for the next 6 days, up to 3 times daily as needed.
- Avoid retinol, vitamin A, exfoliants and other active skincare for 48 hours.
- Apply SPF daily and protect the skin from direct sun exposure.
- Use a fresh pillowcase following your treatment.
