Herbs2Peel Herbal Peel: Level 1 & Level 2
Understanding Herbal peels
Herbs2Peel is a professional botanical resurfacing treatment formulated with a concentrated blend of carefully selected herbs and plant derived active ingredients. Unlike traditional chemical peels that primarily use acid based exfoliation, Herbs2Peel uses fine herbal particles that are systematically worked into the skin to create controlled stimulation.
This stimulation supports increased cellular activity and encourages the skinβs natural renewal and regeneration processes. The herbal actives continue to influence the skin following treatment, allowing the resurfacing process to progress beyond the initial application.
Herbs2Peel is available in Level 1 and Level 2, allowing the depth and intensity of treatment to be selected according to the condition of the skin, individual concerns and desired outcome.
To complete your Herbal Peel treatment, we finish with LED Light Therapy to help calm the skin, reduce post-treatment redness and support the skinβs recovery process.
What can herbal peel improve?
By stimulating the skinβs natural renewal process and encouraging controlled resurfacing, herbal peels can progressively improve the skinβs texture, clarity and overall appearance while addressing a range of common skin concerns.
Herbal peels are designed to target:
-
Active Breakouts & Congestion
Herbs2Peel can help improve breakout-prone and congested skin by supporting exfoliation, clearing surface build up and encouraging a healthier skin renewal cycle.
-
Uneven Skin Texture
The controlled stimulation created by the herbal particles helps refine rough or uneven texture and supports a smoother, more polished skin surface.
-
Post-Acne Marks & Scarring
By encouraging ongoing skin renewal, Herbs2Peel can help soften the appearance of post-acne marks and improve the look of uneven texture associated with superficial acne scarring.
-
Pigmentation & Sun Damage
The resurfacing process can help improve the appearance of uneven tone and visible sun damage by encouraging the removal of dull, damaged surface cells and supporting a more even-looking complexion.
-
Enlarged Pores
Regular treatments can help refine the appearance of enlarged pores by improving surface texture and reducing the build-up that can make pores appear more noticeable.
-
Dull & Lacklustre Skin
By stimulating the skinβs renewal process, Herbs2Peel can help restore a fresher, brighter and more revitalised appearance.
-
Fine Lines & Skin Firmness
The treatment supports ongoing skin renewal and can help improve the appearance of fine lines while promoting a firmer, smoother and more refined complexion.
Considerations
Treatment should be avoided or postponed if you:
-
Have active cold sores, infections or open wounds
Treatment cannot be performed over active viral, bacterial or fungal infections, broken skin or open lesions.
-
Have sunburnt or significantly irritated skin
The skin should be calm, intact and free from active irritation before undergoing a herbal resurfacing treatment.
-
Are experiencing an active flare of eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis
Inflamed or compromised skin may be more susceptible to irritation and should be fully settled before treatment.
-
Have recently used isotretinoin or prescription retinoids
Recent use of oral isotretinoin or certain prescription retinoids may require treatment to be postponed and discussed during your consultation.
-
Have recently undergone laser, resurfacing or other intensive skin treatments
Adequate recovery time may be required between treatments to ensure the skin is ready for further stimulation.
-
Have a known allergy or sensitivity to any herbal or botanical ingredients
Any known allergies or sensitivities should be disclosed prior to treatment so suitability can be properly assessed.
Please inform your therapist of any medications, medical conditions, recent procedures or changes to your skin during your consultation so your treatment can be performed safely and appropriately.
What Will the Treatment Feel Like?
During your Herbal Peel treatment, you may experience a warm, tingling or prickling sensation as the herbal particles are worked into the skin. The intensity can vary depending on your skin sensitivity and whether you are having a Level 1 or Level 2 treatment.
The treatment is generally well tolerated, although Level 2 may feel more intense due to the deeper level of stimulation. Your therapist will remain attentive to your comfort throughout the treatment and closely monitor how your skin is responding at each stage.
Are There Any Safety Considerations?
Temporary redness and sensitivity may occur as part of the skinβs normal response. Following the recommended aftercare is essential to support recovery and minimise the risk of irritation, infection or other complications.
Following the recommended aftercare is important to support the skin as it settles and renews, while helping to minimise unnecessary irritation.
Your Skinβs Recovery Process
We provide you with an aftercare product to nourish, protect and support your skin for up to one week following your treatment.
Following a Herbal Peel, the skin may appear red and feel warm, tight or sensitive as it begins its natural recovery and renewal process.
Downtime is typically around 3β5 days, although this can vary depending on the treatment level and how your skin responds. During this time, redness, dryness, flaking and visible peeling may occur as the skin progresses through its resurfacing process.
Level 2 generally produces a more intensive response than Level 1, with more noticeable peeling and sensitivity.
At approximately two weeks post treatment, the skin can begin to appear more even in texture, smoother, brighter and more radiant, with an overall fresher and more refined complexion.
How many treatments will I need?
Herbal Peel treatment plans are tailored to your individual skin concerns, goals and how your skin responds to treatment. We begin with a Level 1 Herbal Peel to assess your skinβs tolerance and response before progressing to the stronger Level 2 Herbal Peel where appropriate.
Treatments can be performed approximately every 2β4 weeks while working towards a specific skin goal, with the level and frequency adjusted according to your skinβs progress.
Once you have reached your desired skin goals, maintenance treatments can be performed approximately every 3 months to help preserve your results and support the ongoing condition of the skin.
A consistent, professionally recommended skincare routine is also important for supporting your treatment results and helping to keep the skin healthy, balanced and well maintained between appointments.
Treatment Preparation & Aftercare
Preparing the skin correctly before treatment helps reduce sensitivity, minimise the risk of irritation and ensure the skin is in the best possible condition for a safe and effective treatment.
To ensure the skin is in the best condition for treatment:
- Avoid retinol, Vitamin A derivatives and other active skincare ingredients for 7 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds and fake tan for 2 weeks prior to treatment to ensure the skin is not sensitised or compromised before your appointment.
- Avoid threading for 5β7 days prior, and waxing or laser hair removal for 1β2 weeks prior to treatment to minimise sensitivity and allow the skin time to settle.
- Do not pick, peel or manually remove any flaking or peeling skin. Allow it to shed naturally to help prevent irritation and scarring.
- Please reschedule your appointment if you have an active cold sore, open wounds, broken skin or an active skin infection in the treatment area.
- Please advise us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding prior to booking, as treatment suitability will need to be assessed before proceeding.
- Please arrive with no makeup or fake tan applied to the treatment area, allowing the skin to be properly assessed and prepared before treatment.
After your treatment
We provide you with an aftercare product to nourish, protect and support your skin for up to one week following your treatment.
We strongly advise following the recommended aftercare protocol, as the skin is more vulnerable following treatment and requires extra care to minimise the risk of irritation and infection.
- Avoid sun exposure, swimming, exercise and makeup for 48 hours.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat for 48 hours.
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid unnecessary touching for 48 hours.
- Wash the treated area with cold water 2 hours after your treatment, followed by the provided aftercare. Continue using the aftercare for the next 6 days, up to 3 times daily as needed.
- Avoid retinol, vitamin A, exfoliants and other active skincare for 48 hours.
- Apply SPF daily and protect the skin from direct sun exposure.
- Use a fresh pillowcase following your treatment.
